Had the pleasure of meeting Ken and Anya Shortridge last week. They are the owner-operators of Ashes on the Sea, a California based Ash Scattering Company. What a wonderful few hours of talking story with them of our experiences in the industry, sharing new ideas and services and planning for the future. Nina, our charter coordinator and myself very much appreciated spending a bit of their vacation time with them.

They are a great couple teamed up to provide the very best experience for familes celebrating a departed ones life at sea. They are currently servicing all California and Oregon ports with their hand-picked Captains and vessels. We are pleased to be representing them in Hawaii and fulfilling their client's memorial service ash scattering needs in the Hawaiian Islands.

Military Funeral Honors for retirees and vets

Most of our military veterans and retirees are eligible for honor guard services at their memorial service. It is a beautiful, solemn service that recognizes and honors the family and their memory of a fallen warrior. A burial flag is unfurled, folded and presented to the next of kin. A bugler will play "Taps" along with a firing party shooting a 21 gun salute.

To determine eligibility we'll need a copy of the deceased's discharge certificate. Depending on years of service, rank and a few other factors the family may be eligible for the Presidential Memorial Certificate, chaplain services and the services above. Our staff will research for you and determine which honors your deceased family member may be eligible for.

Upon scheduling your Memorial Service - Ash Scattering Charter on Oahu, Hawaii with us we will also coordinate a Uniformed Military Honor Guard service adjoining our Harbor, 1/2 hour prior to your scheduled charter with us. Our fee for this service is $200.
